- Is bKindly safe for my child to use?
As parents of 2 young children - user safety was our number one priority. So, yes - we believe it is. We have and will continue to take every safety precaution to make sure it stays a safe, positive and encouraging social media platform. However - with all device applications we think it’s important to make sure the parents know which and how their children are engaging online - so if you have any questions or concerns - please don’t hesitate to reach out to us - Deb or I will be happy to answer your questions.
- Is my exact location visible to other users?
No. As parents, and knowing kids will be using this app, user safety is extremely important to us. Our app technology randomizes a users location within an ~8 city block radius, so we are never sharing your exact location with another user.
- What if I don’t want to share my identity, but I still want to use bKindly?
We offer all users an opportunity to go anonymous, so they can continue to share kindness without identifying who they are.
- I don’t see any Featured Users - how does that work?
Featured Users is a special feature that Deb and Jon turn on and off as needed. For our initial App launch we wanted to get users familiar with all bKindly has to offer. We are actively seeking partners to work with to make sure our Feature Users initiative provides the most value and encouragement it can. We’ll be sure to announce on Facebook and Instagram when it goes live!
- I’d like to Feature someone in my family - how do I do that?
There are several ways. You can fill out the contact form under the bFeatured section on bkindly.com. You can contact us via Instagram and Facebook and you are always welcome to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- How does MyContacts work?
MyConacts allows people who already know each other and are on the app to connect. In order to do this, both you and the other user need to have the MyContacts feature turned on. We then allow you to sync contacts from your personal device with users on bKindly. We use the email address or mobile number provided at registration to match users. You can also simply add any users from the app to your MyContacts list - because after all, we want you to encourage people you know but also engage with people in your community that you might not yet know
- Can I manage who sees me in MyContacts?
No - if you have it turned on, then any user who also has it turned, that has your email or mobile number (if you provided mobile at registration) on their personal device, will be able to connect with you via MyContacts.
- Can I manage who I see in MyContacts?
Yes - you can add and delete users as you like. It’s important to note you won’t be able to add people who have opted out of MyContacts to your MyContacts.
- Can I give encouragement to someone who isn’t online/active on the App right now?
Yes - you can give encouragement to any of your MyContacts anytime you’d like. You can also add more 'kindly' to any users listed in your give and get box as well as users showing on the Watch screen.
- Can I add my own encouragement statements or emojis?
Not yet! Right now we’re providing safe pre-scripted options to ensure everyone on bKindly is getting positive and encouraging support, but we’re hoping to add this soon!
